Appropriately, on Friday, November 1, a festive “Day of the Dead” holiday-themed opening reception will occur from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. Join in at 7 p.m. for a questions and answerw session with our featured artists.
Over 25 guest artists and gallery member artists offer artwork that celebrates, and has been inspired by, the Mexican holiday, Día de los Muertos, that is traditionally observed from midnight October 31 through November 2. This holiday focuses on supporting the spiritual journey of friends and family members who have died by praying for them and honoring their memories.
The rich visual icons and traditions of this holiday served each artist well as they created artwork for this show. Viewers will be inspired in turn by the bright imagery of the jewelry, paintings, monoprints, sculptures, and more from Christa Barnell, Margaret Benefiel, Valerie Boet, Jessica Bohus, Kris Campau, Marlan Cotner, Carol Cousineau, Adam Dahlstrom, Patricia Dee, Bette Delvecchio, Christi Dreese, Jane Feutz, Jackie Helder, Joe Hull, Cat Jackson, Chandra Jennings, Aron Lowe, Liz Lystra, Catherine McClung, Jan McLaughlin, Suzanne Moynihan, Colleen Rockey, Marilyn Ryan, Tom Saltsman, Hana Sawyer, Sean Sterzer, Mary Sundstrom, and Amy Wilkinson.
It’s going to be a fun show, don’t miss it.
